El pasado 21 de septiembre saltaba la noticia a través de un comunicado en su página web: REM se separan tras más de 30 años de carrera. Lo que quedaba del grupo tras la marcha del batería Bill Berry por problemas de salud ha decidido seguir su camino por separado. Ya llevaban varios años trastabillando y su último trabajo resultó francamente prescindible. Ocupación no les faltará, porque es bien sabido que todos sus miembros han corrido múltiples aventuras paralelas, aunque nunca se atrevieron a lanzar un disco en solitario. Michael Stipe, Peter Buck y Mike Mills se despiden con un recopilatorio final de 40 canciones en el que incluyen tres temas nuevos. Hay que hacer caja.
El doble CD abarca toda su carrera desde sus comienzos hasta el presente en dos discográficas diferentes, y lleva el nombre de Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage, 1982 – 2011. Los inéditos, grabados tras Collapse Into Now son We All Go Back To Where We Belong, A Month Of Saturdays y Hallelujah. El resto del tracklist es el siguiente:
